Electrique Baroque is an electronic music festival in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
For the first time ever, the city's 18th Century palace will play host to an electronic dance music event, having previously been reserved for the worlds of classical, opera and occasionally pop and rock.
The unique location offers a stunning juxtaposition of the modern and the historic - with beautiful Baroque architecture serving as the backdrop to cutting-edge house and techno. Additionally, there promises to be a stunning array of lights and lasers, including mapping technology that will use the palace itself as a projection screen.
The 13 hour festival – complete with ample bars, food stalls and chill-out areas – is set to be a party like no other, in a truly unique environment.
Ludwigsburg Palace is one of Germany's largest Baroque palaces, built in the early 18th Century. For many years it was the royal residency for the historic German territory of Württemberg.
If you plan to reach the festival by plane or train, get to nearby Stuttgart; from there you can easily reach Ludwigsburg by bus or by train.
