A Danish delight
Rival to fellow Dane Roskilde, NorthSide Festival is another boasting huge names in the pop and rock hemispheres. Setting up and plugging in for its sixth year, NorthSide will be joined by the likes of alt-J, The Black Keys and Sam Smith on the meadows.
Now one of the most anticipated Danish festivals, NorthSide has evolved into a 25,000 strong intimate carnival of music, beer and local gourmet dishes, with also a passionate focus on sustainability. For example, a large chunk of the festival site - be it bars, stalls and decorations - are built up with wood, allowing the festival to perfectly blend into its natural surroundings.
And when the music stops at midnight, everyone descends on Aarhus to carry on the party long into the night at the many bars and clubs across the city. Who needs Copenhagen, eh?
The festival takes place in a river valley only walking distance away from the centre of Aarhus - Denmark's second largest city - on a 28,500 metres squared intimate patch that means you'll never not be able to see the stage.

BY PLANE: The nearest airport is Aarhus Lufthavn, however this is still over an hour away from the city itself. To reach there, you must firstly take a Midtrrafik train to Kolind which only takes 8 minutes, and from there board a DSB train onto Aarhus.
BY TRAIN: Aarhus Hovedbanegård (Central Station) is only a 15 minute bus ride on the no. 12 away from the festival site.
BY BUS: Bus no. 12 towards Rosbjergvej/Logistikparken takes you directly to the festival site central train station. You can also take bus no. 4A, no. 11, no. 15 and no. 113, and get off at Silkeborgvej/Vestre Ringgade. From there, walk towards Søren Frichsvej with the Netto shop on your right and Stark on your left.
Unfortunately, there will be no parking spots at the festival site (except a small number for disabled festival-goers), and the immediate surrounding area will be closed. It is therefore recommended you park at least a mile away from the festival and walk down from there.
People of all ages are welcome at the festival and those under 12 years old are allowed in for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
