Earlier this month we headed to the South of France to get a feel for the inclusive electronic music celebration that is Family Piknik festival. We weren't disappointed. Over two days we met people from all over the globe – Argentina, Ireland, Hong Kong and of course France, to name a few. We met party-goers of all ages, either by themselves or in groups or even with their families, as they lost themselves to the iconic progressive house of Hernan Catteano, or the so-called 'drift' style of Agoria.
It was, however, the inimitable Carl Cox's headline performance (following an equally momental set from his old friend Sven Väth) that felt like the climax of the weekend, bringing a taste of Space to Montpellier with his intuitive blend of techno and house that has been cultivated over many years.
