Festival Beauregard 2019: In Pictures

Last weekend saw the 11th edition of Festival Beauregard in the idyllic countryside of Normandy. With temperatures on the comfortable side of 30 degrees all weekend, the French favourite again brought a wholesome, communal feeling to the majestic grounds of Château de Beauregard, with family members of all ages enjoying whoever graced the Beauregard and John stages – from the heavenly folk-rock of Cat Power to the 90s, golden-era hip hop of Suprême NTM.

Though the festival has a proudly regional identity – aided in no small part to the prominence of local volunteers – what's interesting about Beauregard is its added dose of international artists from a variety of spheres; the besuited and brilliantined Interpol brought a taste of the New York high-life on Sunday evening, whilst Bristol punks IDLES tore a hole in the flat and calm energy of Saturday afternoon.

The real stars of the weekend, however, were the likes of cool kids Roméo ElvisAngèle, Lomepal, Columbine and PLK, who received a fanatic, Beatles-like hysteria from the large and adoring teenage contingent. A lovingly welcome festival with a fusion of cultures that stands apart from many of its French contemporaries, see our highlights of Festival Beauregard 2019 below in pictures.
