It's Monday again, which of course means it's time for some new music, and this week we've got new tracks from Ghostface Killah, Aphex Twin and Hannah Wants. Enjoy!
Ghostface Killah & BADBADNOTGOOD - Ray Gun ft. MF Doom (Single)
Ghostface Killah, possibly the most famous member of Wu-Tang Clan, teamed up with Jazz-funk trio BadBadNotGood and fellow rapper MF Doom to drop his first video off upcoming LP 'Sour Soul' - 'Ray Gun' - last Friday. In it we're transported back to the retro 70s to follow "the Mask" - played by Odd Future's Left Brain - attempt, but ultimately fail to rescue a stripper in a psychedelic chronicle that culminates in a weird extra-terrestrial desert climax. Aphex Twin - Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt 2 (EP)
After a 13-year wait for a new Apex Twin release, Richard D James has followed up the autumn’s Syro with a shorter-length, 'Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt 2' EP. Out last Friday, it is exactly what it says it is – real-life keyboards, bass, drums and other percussion, all plugging away in that off-kilter, mesmeric, typically Aphex way. A weird listen first thing in the morning, but totally engrossing. Joel Robertson
Hannah Wants & Chris Lorenzo - Wants (Single)
Released in December but finally available to buy today, self-taught DJ Hannah Wants has collaborated with Cause & Affect's Chris Lorenzo to bring you 'Rhymes'. Sampling vocals from Busta Rhymes' 2006 track 'Touch It', the instant mood setting track displays both DJs knack for deep bass with a house music vibe.
Described by Resident Advisor as having the "ability to continually surprise and blow the eardrums of all who hear her work", you can catch Hannah Wants at We Are FSTVL, Annie Mac's Lost & Found & Reading Festival. Cynthia Franklin
