Having previously announced that IRON MAIDEN, Scorpions, Megadeth and Sepultura will take to the main stage of Rock in Rio on Friday 5 October 2019, it was already confirmed that there would be a 'Metal Day' at the festival's next edition.
Now, the heavy metal offering has been extended even further, with iconic bands Slayer and Anthrax having been confirmed for the Sunset stage on that day.
Slayer's show in the famous Cidade do Rock during the second weekend of the festival will form part of their ongoing farewell tour, which has seen the thrash metal veterans take in concerts and festival appearances across the globe.
Also confirmed is a special collaborative performance by Brazil's very own Torture Squad and Claustrofobia featuring Chuck Billy from US band Testament, as well as São Paulo trio Nervosa (plus a special guest, still to be announced).
