Beacons is a small, fresh and boutique arts and music festival held in the unarguably stunning Yorkshire Dales. In August amongst the drystone walls and rolling moors near Skipton, a fun, friendly festival pops up with one of the nicest atmospheres around. Leave behind capacity crowds in stadium-sized stages - instead experience intimate performances in traditional marquees. The festival crew work hard to give Beacons a personal touch, with hand-made decorations adorning the walls of tents.

Music-wise you can hear the latest bass star next to an acoustic indie hero, as dance music and guitar music collide. Headliners last year included Wild Beats, Maya Jane Coles, Hessle Audio boss Pearson Sound and more from the likes of Junior Boys, Patrick Wolf and Ghost Poet. The best bands  from the Yorkshire and northern regions play, supported by sponsorship from the muso supremos at Stool Pigeon in 2012.  Beacons is family-friendly, offering film screenings, children's entertainment, spoken word, theatre and more. In 2013, Beacons will be backed as always by a wealth of art, film and various extras including clothing stalls, fresh food and drink vendors.
