A musical staple of Switzerland
Located in a lush conservation area close to the city, the multi-genre OpenAir St.Gallen is one of the oldest outdoor festivals in Switzerland, which has become renowned for being a trendsetting hub for its loyal audience and new attendees.
Hosting major names along with your yet to be new favourites, this independent festival with a nationality attendance from far beyond its borders is more than just a music event, where the combination of blistering heat, BBQs, dips in the nearby river, and the occasional water fight make the perfect summer woodland retreat.
From the electronic pioneers The Chemical Brothers to the American rockers The War on Drugs, along with unique rap duo Lo & Leduc and more, OpenAir St Gallen's lineup and equally diverse crowd provide the ultimate Swiss sweet treat.
Set in the bed of the Sitter river and surrounded by trees, OpenAir is in the perfect place for a secluded swim, having said that it's not unusual for the valley hills overlooking the site to be covered with happy campers grilling sausages on makeshift BBQs.
