Lisb-On 2018: 10 Mixes to Prepare You For a Picturesque Party

Lisb-On 2018: 10 Mixes to Prepare You For a Picturesque Party

Lisb-On Jardim Sonoro 2019

We're not really supposed to have favourites here at Festicket, we love all of our festival children equally. But I'm willing to admit that I really do have a soft spot for Lisb-On Jardim Sonoro; which is saying something given I've not actually been myself (maybe one day).

It might be the consistently great lineup, which this year is possibly the strongest yet. It might be the picturesque setting right in the heart of Portugal's capital city. Or it might just be that the photos from previous editions are all very nice looking.

Either way, I decided to pick out some mixes from a selection of the names from this year's lineup – so that those of you lucky enough to be going can get in the mood, and so that the rest not going can bemoan the fact that we're not gonna be there.

Young Marco (Worlwide FM Mix)

A small taste of what the renowned crate-digger and dancefloor specialist is all about.

Sassy J (Live at Lente Kabinet Festival 2018)

A recent example of the Swiss DJ's commitment to the groove.

Rødhåd (Dekmantel Podcast)

Characteristically moody techno from the Berlin veteran.

Lakuti (RA.603)

Deep and soulful house at its finest.

Todd Terje (Essential Mix)

This offering from the Norwegian disco king still sounds as great as ever, more than five years on.

Jayda G (Boiler Room x Dekmantel)

A masterclass in soulful selection.

Maceo Plex (Essential Mix)

Playing old-school electro seems to be the biggest trend in dance music right now, but Maceo Plex has been doing it for years (as displayed in this mix from 2015).

Antal (Boiler Room x Dekmantel)

The man co-founded the iconic Rush Hour Records, so that ought to be enough to gain anyone's respect. But he's also a brilliant DJ, packing his sets with eclectic global rhythms.

Mr Scruff (Live from Gottwood)

Would it really be a proper Mr Scruff mix if it wasn't more than 4 hours long (and full of funk)?

Tama Sumo (Boiler Room Berlin)

It doesn't get much better than a hometown appearance from the Berghain/Panorama Bar resident.

Lisb-On Jardim Sonoro takes place 31 August - 2 September. Book tickets, accommodation and extras here.
