This hasn't been the easiest of weeks for a lot of music fans. On Wednesday we heard the news of Pop Smoke's death, a New York rapper tipped by many as one of the most exciting to come from the home of hip-hop in some time.
This came just two days after the tragic departure of legendary DJ and producer Andrew Weatherall, whose impact on the world of alternative and underground music in the UK (and further afield) cannot be overstated. The two figures may have been at very different stages in their respective careers, but both will be hugely missed by their fans, and those that knew and loved them.
But as the famous tattooed arms of the great Andrew Weatherall himself said: "Fail we may, sail we must". And so we do what he loved the most, delving deep into music and finding that which moves us.
Perhaps the most impactful release this week comes from King Krule; a third album that addresses his new fatherhood amidst the weight of the world that surrounds him, in unmistakably Archy Marshall fashion.
Elsewhere, there are new offerings from Grimes, The Strokes, Charlotte dos Santos, The Weeknd and Jay Som. Enjoy all those and more below.
