100 New Names Added to The Great Escape 2018

The Great Escape Festival 2019

The Great Escape Festival 2019

Brighton, Reino Unido

The Great Escape Festival has added 100 new names to its already expansive 2018 lineup.

Joining Mist and Mostack at the spotlight Dome show will be Steel Banglez, who has worked with everyone from Giggs, Ghetts and Wiley. Appearing alongside him will be lyricist Fredo.

Also confirmed today to be hitting Brighton this May are Mahalia, Poppy Ajudha, Bloxx, Phoebe Bridgers and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

Each year The Great Escape partners with a selection of music brands to help curate its dynamic and diverse lineup, which this year will include the legendary Download Festival.

The rock institution will curate a lineup of the hottest new rock, punk and metal talent, giving festival-goers the chance to discover the next AC/DC, Motörhead, Iron Maiden or Muse.

On the partnership, Download's Andy Copping said: "Having a stage at The Great Escape is a no brainer. In the past few years I’ve been bowled over by some of the rock, metal and punk bands across the world that I’ve seen at TGE and Marmozets, The Struts, The Temperance Movement, Creeper, Milk Teeth, Rolo Tomassi and Zeal & Ardor who have been part of The Great Escape will be playing Donnington Park this summer. To be able to curate our own stage is very exciting."

Another brand joining forces with the festival will be Gilles Peterson’s Future Bubblers, the new talent discovery and
development arm of Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Music, whose ethos is to focus on emerging artists from the underfunded leftfield contemporary music sector.

Peterson added: "Future Bubblers is about identifying and developing some of the most exciting, leftfield, genre blurring music from across the country. We’ve been working with these artists over the past 2 years and this opportunity to work with a festival as established as The Great Escape, to be in the mix of the rest of the UK industry, and to show the world what they’re made of, is so timely for these Bubblers. This will be an important spring board for all the future great things to come for them."
