The birthplace of techno, Detroit is a mecca for fans of the genre. Though the dark electronic sounds may have spread across the globe, their relationship with the city that birthed them is still intact.
Of course every good relationship warrants celebration, so every year Detroit's Hart Plaza plays host to Movement Festival.
Bringing together the biggest names in techno for 11 years now, the festival's 2018 lineup is finally here.
My first thought is that this lineup is more diverse than I was expecting. My second is that it looks like a pretty damn good time.
Branching out beyond electronic music, Wu-Tang Clan will close out the festival on Monday, while Claude VonStroke and a special B2B performance from Loco Dice and The Martinez Brothers will headline Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Spoilt for choice here, other notable additions to the lineup are Nina Kraviz, BadBadNotGood, Helena Hauff, DJ Premier, KiNK, and local legend Carl Craig.
Movement Electronic Music Festival 2018 takes place 26-28 May in Detroit. Find the full lineup on our guide and join the Mailing List to be the first to hear news about the upcoming edition, including lineup announcements and key dates…
