The Cape Town International Jazz Festival, held in South Africa, is the largest jazz festival in Africa and one of the largest anywhere in the world.
Currently preparing for its eighteenth edition, the festival has previously welcomed everyone from Herbie Hancock and Marcus Miller to Lauren Hill and Erykah Badu to the rainbow nation's stunning coastal capital.
These globally famous stars sit alongside national talent on a lineup that fuses traditional jazz with modern funk, soul, R&B afropop and much more.
The lineup for 2017 has not been announced yet. Last year it included Amadou & Mariam, Angie Stone, BadBadNotGood and many more.
Opened in 2003, and has The CTICC is a large convention centre that spans more 15 acres, close to the city's famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront
The Cape Town International Convention Centre is easily accessible from the city's airport. Just a take a bus to the Civic Centre, which is less than 800m from the festival venue. It is also only a short walk (around 15 minutes) from the city's central train station.
