Rock, pop and indie in epic surroundings
Colours of Ostrava is an eclectic rock, pop, indie and electronic music festival in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The breathtaking setting of a former coal works feels as alive as ever before, as artists and fans stream in from across Europe.
The lineup is always full of household names, with the likes of alt-J, Jamiroquai, Moderat, Tame Impala, Underworld and Caribou having joined in the festivities in the last few years.
And when it comes to atmospheric, character-filled settings, you won't find anything more impressive or mesmerising than the closed industrial works of Dolní Vítkovice, just outside the city of Ostrava.
The festival settles among blast furnaces, mines and ironworks in an old coal mine near Ostrava.
