Common People returns to take the urban heart of Southampton by storm. Packed with an eclectic mix of genres and artists, it offers an escape from the metropolis in the sun-filled commons of the city.

Previous headliners have included Craig David, Duran Duran, Primal Scream, Katy B, Fatboy Slim, Clean Bandit and Public Enemy. Now returning for its third year, it looks to build upon this hugely successful precedent.

The brainchild of Bestival mastermind Rob da Bank, prepare for quirky installations and hidden gems amongst the musical festivities and a healthy dose of surprises thrown into the mix.

Southampton Common is a large and open green space based in the north of the city. Its size makes it perfect for summer festivals and events.

FAQs

Camping is not available for the festival.

On both days of the event, the gates will be open from 10.30am. The event box offices open at 9.30am and closes at 8pm.

The event will be finished by 11pm each night and you will be requested to leave the site swiftly.

Yes, there will be cashpoints, and the bars will accept card payments.

No re-entry is permitted unless it is for very valid reasons. If you do have to leave the site and come back in, you will need your wristband, valid ticket and may be subject to a full search.

Anyone under 16 will need to be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or nominated guardian.

Common People is free for children under 5, however they do need a ticket and this can be ordered at the same time as when you buy your tickets. They can also be added on free of charge to an existing ticket order if needed.

BY PLANE: If you're flying to Southampton's main airport, you can then take either a 10 minute taxi, or the U1 bus from Southampton Airport Parkway to the Common. 

BY TRAIN: Southampton Central Station is around 2 miles from Southampton Common, which is around a 5 minute taxi ride or a 35 minute walk. You can also get the number 7 bus which will take you to outside the Common.
