Electric Forest is an iconic electronic festival set amongst the brightly lit woodlands of Michigan, USA. Magical colours illuminate the wooded wilds as stunning light shows and wonderfully bizarre installations fill the forest.
Packed with euphoric experiences, the electrifying atmosphere is led by an abundance of electronic artists at the top of their genre. Expect the very best headliners along with the most immersive and magical underground talent as the forest is brought to life.
This year, the festival 'leaps into the future' by splitting into two separate weekends (June 22nd - 25th / June 29th - July 2nd) to bring twice as much excitement and maintain the festival's culture and ethos. Carefully curated, each weekend will bring unique events and continue to present this wondrous blend of music, art and exploration.
Previous artists include the likes of Major Lazer, Steve Aoki, Skrillex, Bonobo, Steve Angello, Duke Dumont, Carl Cox, Above & Beyond, Four Tet, Flux Pavillion, Dada Life, Gorgon City, and many more.

The festival is set amongst the woodlands of the Electric Forest. With wooded inlets and nearby lakes, it forms a mystical and adventurous backdrop to the festival.

The best way to get there is y taking an official shuttle bus, departing from major cities around the festival as well as the Muskegon Airport, the Grand Rapids Airport and Chicago's O'Hare Airport. Travelling by shuttle makes you eligible for complimentary early arrival, and tent-only GA Camping close to the venue entrance.
The nearest airport is Grand Rapids (GRR). From here you can take a bus to Kentwood Station - Woodland (15 minutes - line 17) then another bus to Central Station (30 minutes - line 5) before catching a final bus to Muskegon, MI (55 minutes - twice daily - line 4595). Once here you can take a taxi or drive to the festival site (approximately 28 minutes).
Electric Forest is a three hour drive from Detroit/Ann Arbor and Chicago, and just a little further from St. Louis and Indianapolis.
If you are staying off site, you will be able to come and go throughout the weekend.
There will be a day parking lot available at EF2016 near the South Toll Booth entrance. Exit the highway onto Winston road and then proceed to the South Toll booth off of Water road. Please ask for day parking when you arrive with the flow of festival traffic.
Day parking will be offered for no additional charge.
If your car remains in day parking an hour after music has ended each night, it may be towed at your expense.
There will be free water refill stations throughout the campgrounds and within the festival venue. Water will also be available at very reasonable prices.
These items will be available at the General Store located near the Festival’s main entrance. Please check the map upon arrival for exact location of the General Store. Event merchandise will also be available at the Official Forest Goods locations.
Yes! You will be able to rent lockers for the duration of the festival.
Yes, even if you are under 21 or not planning to drink, you should bring your ID for safety purposes.
You must be 21+ to consume alcohol in the campgrounds. A reasonable amount of unopened beer and wine (limited to 1 case of beer and one box of wine per person), will be permitted to be brought onto your camping area. If, however, in the security’s judgment anyone in the vehicle is intoxicated, or the alcohol is open, then the organizers reserve the right to confiscate the alcohol. Kegs, glass, liquor, or vending of alcohol is not permitted in the campgrounds, and alcohol may not be brought from the campsites into the festival venue.
