Elevate Festival combines electronic music and indie with "experimental sound art and political discourse", made up of film screenings and visual art that'll play alongside the variety of lectures, discussion panels and workshops.

The event takes place in Graz, Austria, on, inside and around the stunning Schloßberg hill, fizzing to the likes of Sigha and DJ Funk, who will provide the sanctuary for those looking to escape the mainstream and a throbbing 4/4 beat.

Breaking down the barrier between artist and audience, the Elevate Lab will once again be hosting a series of Music Talks, bringing together industry insiders and artists with the fans who make the scene what it is.

The Schloßberg, or Schlossberg, is a hill in the centre of Graz and is the site of an ancient fortress surrounded by woodland. Some of the festival's venues are nestled inside the castle and within the actual hill itself in tunnels and caves, while others are in the nearby park.

FAQs

Graz has its own airport, which is about 13km from the city centre. However, most of its flights come from Germany and Vienna, so depending on your point of departure, Vienna Airport may be the best place to fly into.

FROM GRAZ AIRPORT: From the Flughafen Graz-Feldkirchen station, the S5 train departs every 30 minutes and takes 12 minutes to reach Graz Hbf. From there, it is a walk eastwards along the Keplerstraße and over the river. The green mound of the Schloßberg is very visible from afar.

FROM VIENNA AIRPORT: As mentioned above, connecting flights from Vienna to Graz are available. However, if you’d prefer the train, it will cost you a total of around €41 and take about 3 and a quarter hours. Take the train from the airport (Flughafen Wien) to Wien Mitte, then on to Wien Meidling. From there, it’s on to Graz Hbf.

You must be at least 18 to attend.
