Contemporary dance music within a historical setting
Farrago Festival is a brand new dance festival held inside the grounds of a restored castle in rural Germany.
Showcasing contemporary house and techno in a historical setting, Farrago beautifully marries old and new, creating an artistic vision unique to itself.
With the festival only running at a 700 capacity, this a rare chance to experience international artists such as Mano Le Tough, DJ Tennis and John Talabot up close and personal, surrounded by mystical woodland and a stripped back, honest atmosphere free of any pretence or commercial interest.
Schweppermannsburg, just east of Nuremberg, is the restored remains of a 12th century castle. The castle is surrounded by beautiful fields and forests, and sits on a hill overlooking the small village of Pfaffenhofen.

The festival site can be reached from Nuremberg or Munich by car in 40 or 90 minutes respectively, with both cities offering an airport as well as various train or bus connections.
If you're considering booking a hotel the festival strongly recommends booking a local taxi in advance, as taxi capacities are limited, especially during the evenings and throughout the night.
The festival is also working on other transportation options, which will be announced closer to the festival.
A campsite will be within walking distance of the castle, situated in the area's natural surroundings.
There will also be a very limited amount of guest rooms available in the local village and multiple hotel options in Amberg which is about a 15 minutes drive from the festival site.
