Party on the Madeiran coast

Festival Aleste is a multi-genre festival on the Portuguese island of Madeira. Predominantly taking place on beachfront site in the island's capital city of Funchal, the festival extends to three days this year for the first time ever.

The celebration starts with a procession on the first day from the Municipal Garden of Funchal to the coastal complex that the festival calls home (complete with stage-side swimming pool), culminating in a performance from celebrated Porto rap group Conjunto Corona.

The rest of the lineup across the course of the festival covers not just hip hop, but also folk, indie, jazz, Afro-Latin rhythms, and the dancefloor-focused sounds at the forefront of the vibrant Portuguese club scene.
