Festival Internacional de Benicàssim is a huge multi-genre music festival in Spain. Now a stalwart of the European festival scene, FIB has become an annual pilgrimage for thousands of music fans across the continent.
The varied programme that runs from the early evening until the early hours means festival-goers (affectionately known as Fibers) can relax in the Mediterranean sun by day and party to the music of their choosing through the night.
With lineups that regularly boast the biggest names in all manner of musical genres – from rock and indie to rap and electronic, a stunning coastal location and more-or-less guaranteed good weather, it's easy to see why the festival has proved to be so popular time and time again.
Host of the festival since 1995, the resort Benicàssim lies just north of Valencia on Spain's beautiful Costa del Azahar (Orange Blossom Coast).
Airport transfers are usually offered from Reus, Barcelona, Girona, Valencia and Alicante, while shuttle bus passes allow free and convenient transport between hotels/Benicàssim town and the festival site. Look out for more details closer to the festival dates.
Anyone aged 15 or under will need to be accompanied by a parent or adult (over 18) at all times, and if this adult is not a parent then a special responsibility form must be filled out. Those aged 16 and 17 will be given a particular wristband which prohibits the purchase of alcohol.
