Bare witness to musical mastery
Gent Jazz Festival takes over the Belgian city's artistic home, the Bijlokesite, for two weekends in July every year. One of the most respected jazz festivals in Europe, the festival mixes national and international acts.
With something for all fans of musical prowess, the first weekend offers a more traditional jazz lineup, while the second has an expanded purview, exploring jazz's influence throughout other genres.
Drawing likeminded music lovers together to witness some of the best musicians in the world do what they do best, Gent Jazz Festival is a hub of creativity.
This year's lineup hasn't been announced yet, but the 2017 edition featured Herbie Hancock, Grace Jones, Kamasi Washington, Norah Jones and more.
Housing the city's famous music, dance and theatre halls, Bijlokesite is the epicentre of culture in Gent.
