Not only is it the biggest independent rock festival in East Germany, but Highfield has become one of the most important indie-rock festivals in the whole of Europe.

Whipping up a beautiful lakeside scene, Highfield combines water sports and beach games with the very best music from the rock hemisphere, and has previously had the likes the of the Foo Fighters grace its ground.

This year though it's the turn of American punksters Interpol and The Gaslight Anthem, who along with many more, will tear up the old mining lake for 25,000 rockers raring to go!

Highfield takes place on the peninsula of an abandoned mining lake called Störmthal Lake, only a few kilometres from the city of Leipzig.

Therefore the site sits beautifully on the waterfront, with its scenic beaches creating a dreamlike location for a festival.

Address

Störmthaler See Grosspösna, Leipzig, 04463, Germany
