The Basics

8-11 June 2017
Isle of Wight, United Kingdom

Isle of Wight Festival is a rock and pop music festival with bags of history. First held in 1968 but with a long break from 1970 to 2002, it's one of Europe's biggest and most impressively storied festivals.

From Jimi Hendrix and The Who to Fleetwood Mac, Faithless and The Who again in 2016, IOW's lineups have always been full of the biggest bands around – while also standing out from the rest of the continent's festival crowd.

A healthy dose of comedy, cabaret and poetry also play their part as the island is transformed into one big weekend party, just as it was 48 years ago for the very first time.
