Filling the enchanting city streets with sounds of unity and hope, Jerusalem Sacred Music Festival embraces music and art from every faith and culture across our world.

Turning citadels, caves and winding alleyways into palaces of song and listening, a diversity of international and local artists will perform across a variety of captivating venues across the city.

And now in its fourth year, the festival will delve down to new depths of creativity, presenting an even greater programme of musical styles and experiences.

Pounding Reggae drums or Sufi whirling meditation, Jerusalem's charmingly stunning architecture provides the perfect backdrop for a truly unique festival that begins in the ear and culminates in the heart.

No matter who you are, JSMF welcomes you with open arms, inviting you to come and celebrate yourself and whatever you believe to be holy, becoming part of a sanctuary built upon equality and respect.

Come in peace.

FAQs

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advises against taking public transport within Jerusalem, however, the various JSMF venues are within easy walking distance from each other. In addition, the FCO advises to take specific care near the Old City and in East Jerusalem and to leave the area if there is apparent tension or unrest.

The nearest international airport to the city is Ben Gurion International Airport. There are bus and train services into the city from here.

If you’re driving, take Highway 1 (the main motorway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem) from the airport straight to the city. This will take around 40 minutes.

A taxi will take a similar amount of time and cost around £50 (60 euros).

Once in the city centre you can easily walk to the festival's venue.

Concerts start in the evening, usually from 1930 onwards. The latest a show will finish is 0030, unless it’s the Night Stroll, which starts at 0030 and finishes at 0430. There is also a sunrise concert that begins at 0530.

The currency they use in Israel is the New Israel Shekel (NIS). You should be able to exchange pounds, euros and dollars into shekels at the airport, banks and post offices. There is a bureau de change in the Old City, near the Jaffa Gate entrance.
