Big celebrations way up north

Kingsland Festival Groningen is the northern edition for the annual Kingsday (Koningsdag). On April 27th every year the country comes alive, draped in orange to celebrate King Willem-Alexander’s birthday.

With events and activities happening all day across the country, Kingsland have four major electronic festivals for you to enjoy, inviting some of the biggest DJs in the world to perform on this unique holiday.

In your brightest, most orange outfit, head to one of the oldest cities in the world to experience incredible audio/visual effects, incredible beats and even better drops among thousands of likeminded people all ready to party.

FAQs

BY PLANE: If you are unable to fly into Groningen, then we recommend flying into Amsterdam Schiphol, where you can catch a train directly onto Groningen. Groningen Airport is just a 40 minute bus (2, 402) or a 15 minute taxi ride from the city centre.

BY TRAIN: Groningen is easily accessible by rail from the rest of the Netherlands and neighboring Europe, however many services will require a change.

Bus numbers 3 and 4 will take you to Groningen, Bedrijven Peizerweg, which is just on the edge of the park. It is just a 12 minute walk from there to the festival site. Alternatively, you could get a taxi which will take less than 10 minutes and will cost around €20.

This is an 18+ festival and you may need to show ID upon entry.

All Kingsland festivals are accessible sites that include disabled toilets and wide passageways. There are not, however, separate areas for disabled visitors.
