Lollapalooza Chile is a multi-genre music festival taking place in the country's capital city Santiago.
A satellite of the US giant, the Chilean edition was the first to be held outside North America back in 2011. Six years on, the festival has gone from strength to strength.
Global stars of rock, pop, electronic and hip-hop feature alongside a healthy contingent of Chilean artists, and the festival has served as an important platform for Chilean music, with several acts going on to play the original festival in the USA.
Located in the centre of the capital city, Parque O'Higgins is Chile's second largest public park and includes in its grounds a 16,000 capacity arena, an amusement park, an olympic swimming pool and a host of shops, craft stalls and museums.
BY PLANE: Santiago International Airport is around 20km from the park. A taxi between the two should only take 15 minutes.
BY TRAIN: Santiago's Estación Central is only 5km from the park. The 510 bus runs between the two (taking around 15 minutes) or a taxi will take around 5 minutes.
