A celebration of music and food
Held on Spain's northern coast, Bay Of Biscay Festival is a three day celebration of food and cookery (which formerly went by the name Mundaka Festival).
The lineup of performers ranges from internationally renowned rock bands to favourites of Spain's music scene, with a definite leaning towards the worlds of indie, rock and alternative music.
Gastronomical offerings are even more diverse, and naturally, the delicious local cuisine is strongly represented. But the programme of workshops and the food vendors cover dishes from across the globe, from sourdough to sushi.
The festival will be held in the coastal town of Bermeo, around 3km away from its former home in Mundaka.
BY TRAIN: Bermeo can be reached directly by train from Bilbao, which in turn is well connected across Spain, with direct lines to the likes of Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza.
BY BUS: You can reach Bermeo by bus from Bilbao in just over an hour.
BY PLANE: As the biggest in northern Spain, Bilbao Airport is well connected to much of Europe. From this airport, a taxi to Mundaka will take around 25 minutes and cost approximately €30. Alternatively, you can take a bus into Bilbao itself, followed by another to Bermeo.
Music fans of all ages are welcome at the festival. Children aged 12 under get in free, but must be accompanied by a parent of guardian. Teenagers aged 13-15 must also be accompanied by an adult, but will need to buy a ticket. Those aged 16 and over do not need adult accompaniment.
Accompanying adults who are not parents or legal guardians will need to present signed authorisation and a copy of parents identification.
It is advised that all festival-goers take a form of identification to the festival.
