NOS Summer Opening is a festival held in Funchal, the capital of Portuguese island Madeira. Celebrating its 5th edition this year, the two day festival heralds the start of summer with the sounds of hip-hop, reggae, funk and soul.

The beautiful natural setting in the Parque de Santa Catarina, and impressive backdrop of Funchal's hillsides and the Atlantic Ocean, enhance the welcoming summer vibes created by the music on offer.

This year, Brazilian heavyweight of modern samba, funk and soul Seu Jorge will perform on the island of Madeira for the very first time, joined by R&B ace Nelson Freitas and stars of Portuguese hip-hop and reggae Dillaz, Mundo Segundo & Sam the Kid, Bezegol and Átoa.
