Airport Franz-Josef-Strauss is just 20km north of Munich. From the airport, you can reach the city centre by either taking train lines S1 or S8, or the Lufthansa Airport Bus which will drop you at Munich central station. Both journeys should take around 45 minutes.
Munich Central Train Station, or Hauptbahnhof, is easily accessible from the rest of Germany and also neighbouring European countries.
Oktoberfest welcomes people of all ages, with some days dubbed "family days", offering cheaper fares on the amusement rides. Those under 18 will not be served alcohol.
