Pstereo is a well-hidden celebration of an eclectic taste, tucked away in the historical Norwegian corner, Trondheim.

The two day affair is prided on a relaxed atmosphere, where revellers have the choice of four stages which have previously been rocked on by Franz Ferdinand and Biffy Clyro. Next year they'll be playing host to similar international crowd-pleasers, and have already announced Aurora Aksnes and Cymbals Eat Guitars with many more to come.

Beyond the music though, picnics and barbecues have been rolled out in recent years, paying homage to the festival's trademark inclusive style, and appealing to those after a more refined festival experience.

And who could forget the stunning landscape.

Marinen park is in Trondheim, Norway's third city founded by the vikings over 1,000 years ago, while modest in population size, has a grand variety of things to see and do. The scenery is beautiful with views over the meandering River Nidelva and the city’s Nidaros Cathedral can be seen from the festival site, meanwhile it is not uncommon for people to venture into the city before, during or after the main festival.

By car: The Norwegian north-south highway E6 passes Trondheim. Parking in the city centre is easy, but expensive.

By bus: There are various buses which reach T... from other cities, and do pass through locations not on the train lines, however they are consequently much slower.
