With thirty years of history behind it, the festival crams its stages with A-list bands and artists from all over the globe. Metallica, Faith No More and Mötley Crüe were just some of the rock legends to lead the way at 2015's edition – with 2016 taking place in Lisbon, Portugal.

The festival takes place in the new City of Rock, located on the site of the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Rio de Janeiro–Galeão International Airport is in the north of the city centre, on Ilha do Governador island in Guanabara Bay. From there, the cheapest way to reach the city is by line 2018 bus, which will take around an hour. Taxis are also available.
