Rock Werchter is a music festival in Belgium. Although mainly focussed on rock, the festival features artists from all popular genres over its four days.
Taking place annually since 1975, Rock Werchter is one of the most influential festivals in Europe, winning the award for best festival in the world at the annual International Live Music Conference numerous times.
Over the years Rock Werchter has grown into one of Belgiums largest music festivals, having a capacity of almost 150,000 people. The sheer size and longevity of the festival has allowed it to put together lineups of the biggest names in music every year.
Rock Werchter is a classic outdoor festival, taking place in an expansive field in the middle of Belgium.

The nearest airpot is Brussels Airport (BRU). Upon arrival take the train to Leuven (13 minutes). From here take the 333, 433, or 513 bus to Werchter De Brug (20 minutes). Signs to the festival entrance will be posted at this stop.
Alternatively, there is also a De Lijn special shuttle bus service which goes from the Leuven train station directly to the festival.
Leuven train station is accessible from most European cities but may require a transfer. A festival ticket entitles you to 1 free and personal e-train ticket for a return journey in 2nd class to Rock Werchter. Transfers with extra buses of De Lijn are included. More information can be found here.
No, this is an all ages festival. However all festival-goers must have a valid ticket, including children.
