    Belgium's canal-side gem

Ronquières Festival is a two-day festival held each summer in the Belgian village of the same name. Every year the festival welcomes a whole host of stars to perform close to the banks of Brussels-Charleroi canal.

While the lineup is predominantly populated by celebrated French and Belgian talent, an array of international acts have appeared since the first addition, including Pete Doherty, Tom Odell, Milky Chance, Metronomy and this year's headliner Lily Allen.

Besides the festival, Ronquières is most famous for its renowned 'sloping lock' – an inclined plane on the canal that carries boats uphill  – and the festival takes place just metres from this impressive sight.

The festival takes place just outside the Belgian village of Ronquières, at the site of the famous 'sloping lock' on the Brussels-Charleroi canal.
