Sneeuwbal Winter Festival is a snow-themed electronic party in the centre of Utrecht. Held each January, the city's Park Transwijk buzzes with house and techno favourites from afternoon till night.
Amongst its pulsating sound will be a host of winter activities, including the popular snow slide, igloos, intimate parties, and tonnes of hearty winter food and drink to keep you warm and going.
2016's lineup was led by Umek and Jay Hardway, who topped a bill of both international names and up-and-coming DJs with a distinctively Dutch vibe.
Park Transwijk is located in a residential area of Utrecht, the country's fourth largest city.
Amsterdam Schiphol is the closest international airport. Direct trains run from the airport to Utrecht Centraal station every 15 minutes and take half an hour. The journey will cost you €9 for a single.
From Utrecht Centraal station, take the tram in the direction of IJsselstein or Nieuwegein, and get off at the Vasco da Gama Avenue stop. From there, it is a short walk to Park Transwijk.
Alternatively, a number 65 bus from the station towards Vianen will take you the 5 minute journey to the Utrecht, Europaplein station. Park Transwijk is just to the north of the stop.
It is not possible to park next to the festival site. The closest option is Transferium Westraven.
Minimum age is 18.
The festival will start at 14:00 and finish at 23:00.
