Southside Festival is an alternative powerhouse set in a former military base near Tuttlingen. Now approaching its 17th year, Southside has a precedent of attracting some of the biggest names in music.
Catering largely to the rock and indie crowd, but also opening up to the more staple electronic scene, the festival has been consistently growing in size and awe since its inception as the southern twin to Hurricane Festival.
Previous artists have included Rammstein, Mumford & Sons, Axwell ^ Ingrosso, The Prodigy, Placebo, Florence + the Machine, Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, The Strokes and Massive Attack so expect another star-studded lineup for the 2017 edition.
The festival is set in a former military base for the Germany Army Aviation Corps that lies to the east of Tuttlingen. Situated in the valley of the Upper Danube, it is the perfect location for a unique festival experience.
BY TRAIN: The best station to get the train to is Tuttlingen, from where the festival will be operating a shuttle service to and from the festival site.
Children 6 or under are not allowed at Southside, and those 18 or under must carry written permission with them at all times. This can be downloaded from the festival's official site.
