A feast of diverse music from across the continent

Szene Openair is an annual multi-genre music festival held in Lustenau, Austria. One of the oldest and most established anywhere in the country, the festival is preparing to celebrate with another feast of diverse music from across the continent, and from further afield.

Right from the get-go, the festival has been organised by a local cultural organisation aimed at providing a performance platform for emerging musical talent from the region. This is why the festival's ethos is to get as much airtime to local, up-and-coming musicians as it does to international talent.

And while rock music was once the most heavily represented genre, these days the lineup is a rich mix of genres, welcoming plenty of artists that span pop, hip hop, techno and more to their stages.

+ many more to be announced.

Lustenau is an Austrian town on the border with Switzerland. The festival takes place just south of the town on the banks of the Alter Rhein, a cut off arm of the river Rhine.

If travelling by train, Hohenems station is closest to the festival. You can reach here from Feldkirch station which is connected directly by rail to Innsbruk, Zurich, Vienna, Graz and more. There will be a free shuttle bus from Hohenems to the festival site.

A festival ticket allows visitors to travel for free on public transport within the Austrian state of Vorarlberg.
