Huge sounds and stunning scenery
Zürich Openair's fifth instalment of indie/rock-electro continues the festival's rise up the European circuit, as big-name artists and crowds of 75,000 turn this quiet corner of Switzerland into a unique, four-day carnival.
Two music stages, a dance circus and incredible local cuisine keep ZOA's profile growing every year, and even in just half a decade it has hosted the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Faithless, Kraftwerk, The xx and deadmau5.
ZOA also have a great record of charitable partnerships, ensuring that the festival's relaxed and friendly atmosphere is supported from the top. Long may it continue!
Right next to the airport (Flughofstrasse means 'airport road'), the Zürich Openair site is a wide open space north of the city centre.
Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland, but Bern is the federal city (capital).
Flughofstrasse 21, Glattbrugg, 8152, Switzerland
Zürich Kloten Airport is the largest in Switzerland, and the festival site is within touching distance of the airport's southern corner.
Tram lines 10 and 12 run from the airport every few minutes, and it's a 5 minute journey to Bäuler station, which is the festival site.
The organisers recommend that drivers park at the airport and then take the tram.
By train, the Bahnhof Glattbrugg station is a very short walk from the venue.
There has been no confirmation of the 2015 daily timetable so far, but last year the timings ran as follows:
Day 1: 15:00 to 04:30
Day 2: 12:00 to 05:30
Day 3: 12:00 to 05:30
Day 4: 11:00 to 22:00
The festival is open to all ages. Children up to the age of 12 pay no admission, but must bring ID and be accompanied by an adult.
