Eclectic musical mania in London's East End
The brainchild of electronic party pioneers Groove Armada, Lovebox has grown into an annual, super-styled soiree in the grounds of London’s oldest public space, Victoria Park.
With over ten stages of music, carefully curated each summer, this urban disco brings together everything from huge pop enigmas to underground bass heads, and shoehorns in all the magical musicians from the rock, folk, dance and diva sections of your local record store too.
Eclectic and eccentric, its bars will be beautified with their own personas and its grub will sizzle salaciously as some of the best pop-up nosh in festival land.
Hipsters, drag queens, freaks, and neon night cats will all come together for this debauched orgy of splendid nonsense, with sideshows of vintage fairground rides, cocktails, cupcakes and glittery goodness, especially on Sunday's affectionately-revered Gay Day.
No acts have been confirmed for the Lovebox 2014 line-up as yet, but expect a diverse selection of big name acts, cutting-edge DJs and plenty of emerging live acts. Azealia Banks, Plan B and Goldfrapp headlined last year.
Victoria Park is a large, historic park in the East End of London that borders with Bethnal Green, Bow and Hackney.
With several stages and tents, plus VIP areas, boutique food stalls, individually designed bars and fairground rides, organisers really turn the festival into a world that wows.
