Techno & dance in a riverside fortress
Formerly known as Anti Pop Festival, NeoPop turns its back on the mainstream and embraces the techno and electronic dance scene.
Played against a backdrop of creaking fishing boats and breaking tides, legendary names such as Sven Väth, Joseph Capriati and Marco Carola will preside over three days of intimacy and full-frontal dance in a riverside fortress, testament to both past-centuries' toils and pioneering avant-garde music.
Now the most renowned electronic festival in Portugal, NeoPop straddles a line between modern urban festival and open air retreat with its extensive beaches and idyllic architecture, and does so with unique and wonderful results.
Viana do Castelo is a port town in the north of Portugal with a huge naval history, when the town was the country's gateway to trade and centre of commerce.
Now it is home to a variety of restaurants, with fresh seafood being top of the menu, while the town also offers other cultural attractions founded upon its rich history.
