One of Germany's most famous landmarks, the Nürburgring, once again hosts the futuristic dance utopia that is New Horizons this coming weekend.
Within its relatively brief, but undoubtedly impactful three-year lifespan, the festival has grown to become the pivotal celebration of all aspects that have made the EDM phenomenon so beloved; unwavering positivity, inclusivity, and stellar audio-visual production.
Of course, there's variety of genres on offer across the festival's seven separate arenas branching out beyond merely EDM, and a wealth of talent in said genres.
So, to get us geared up for a mind-blowing weekend, we've highlighted the ten artists who aim to stamp their mark on the festival's growing imprint, and simply cannot be missed.
Diplo, Walshy Fire and new member Ape Drums bring their brilliantly bombastic live-performance to Germany as a country-wide summer exclusive. That's right, exclusive. What more reasons do you need to convince you?
Even breaking his leg a few months ago wouldn't deter DJ Mag's No.1 DJ Garrix from playing New Horizons. That's dedication. We're pretty sure his dedication will be reciprocated amongst 70,000 ravers come Friday night when he reveals his exclusive Anima show especially for this occasion.
There's plenty of exclusive performances at this year's festival, and Don Diablo has another one in-store; it'll be the only time you can catch his Future XL show in Germany this summer. Enough said.
The Ukraine-born Canadian upstart has been steadily pushing boundaries over the past few years since signing to deadmau5's Mau5trap label. It's her debut performance in Germany, so she's bound to make a lasting impression.
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike
Up there with the most popular duos in EDM history, and there's a valid reason. Grafting their way to the top, their live sets prove why they deserve to remain there.
Another German-first is the collaborative venture between hardstyle producer's Headhunterz and Wildstylez in Project One. Making a collective comeback under this guise after nine years focusing on separate careers, they'll be back with a bang.
Australia's most widely renowned female export in terms of DJs/producers, and the highest-ever billed female DJ at Coachella proves Wonderland cuts it with the biggest names in contemporary electronic music. Hopefully she's the first of many female artists that can command prestigious slots on the world's biggest stages, and New Horizon's Capital Park main stage is one of them.
The Isreali duo inject a playful, psychedelic element into their trippy brand of electronica, so their set will no doubt be a joyous (and potentially mind-altering) rave from end to end.
The second Australian we're recommending; it'll almost impossible to veer your eyes away from his live show, due to the combination of his expert instrumentation, infectious beats, and boundless energy on stage. Time to get pumped with Trumpet.
A wildcard choice, but with Ganacci, his comical demeanour suggests that though he may not take the whole 'dance music maestro' tag too seriously and makes entertaining a crowd paramount - exhibited during his well-documented antics at Tomorrowland both this year and last. Either love him or hate him, it'll be a set full of surprises.
