Despite only reaching it's third edition in 2020, Dava Festival's blossoming reputation sets it aside from it's techno contemporaries; unfolding within the heart of UNESCO-protected citadel Sighisoara, Romania, the festival's scenic surrounds are as fascinating and rich in history as they come.
Matching Sighisoara's impressive historic tapestry, Dava Festival are paying tribute to two legendary techno scenes with their lineup this year: Detroit and Berlin.
Leading the first announcement is Derrick May. A true originator and pioneer within the genre, May's influence courses through the lineage of techno and seeing his iconic presence at the festival's summit will no doubt serve as a landmark moment for Dava.
Ingrid, Klangkuenstler, and The Yellowheads are the other prominent names on the first lineup reveal, with plenty more artists celebrating both Detroit and Berlin's techno heritage to be added. Check out the video below for the full announcement:
