2017 Dates TBA, São Paulo, Brazil: Unsurprisingly, Tomorrowland Brasil comes out on top. The biggest party in the world made its South American debut in 2015, and the second edition in April saw superstars Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, David Guetta and Alesso top the bill.
14-16 July 2017, Split, Croatia: Miami's monstrous Ultra Music Festival has made a seamless transition to Europe, bringing world-beating lineups to stadium, beach and boat parties across almost a full week of summer raving.
The all-conquering, explosive spirit of Las Vegas lives strong in the UK, setting up a one-day experience like no other. Avicii, Axwell ^ Ingrosso and Martin Garrix all played in 2016.

24-27 August 2017, Daresbury, UK: The most prestigious dance festival in the world, Creamfields covers everything from arena house to garage and bass, coming the closest to Tomorrowland for all-round electronic feel.
2017 Dates TBA, Le Barcarès, France: Oceanside in the far south of France, Electrobeach Music Festival is best known for the landlocked ship that forms part of the festival staging. DJs like Alesso, Calvin Harris and Avicii are just a bonus.
2017 Dates TBA, Frankfurt, Germany: World Club Dome packs a full TWELVE stages into Frankfurt's Commerzbank-Arena, creating a large-scale yet intimate setting. No names have been announced for the upcoming edition yet, but expect DJs on a level with 2016 headliners Hardwell, David Guetta and Martin Garrix.
2017 Dates TBA, Zamárdi, Hungary: Soaked in sun and on the shores of one of the biggest freshwater lakes in Europe, Balaton Sound 2016 was headlined by Tomorrowland favourites Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, alongside Armin van Buuren and W&W.
2017 Dates TBA, Freiburg, Germany: Smaller crowds, more intimate stages and a high-profile underground feel – Sea You Festival comes up with a more relaxed take on summer partying. It makes the most of a beautiful lakeside location, too.
2017 Dates TBA, Upminster, UK: It's been less than four years since We Are FSTVL burst spectacularly onto the European scene, but the East-London affair has already become a favourite of both fans and artists. And to say We Are FSTVL's stage design is impressive would be a serious understatement.
31 May-4 June 2017, Barcelona, Spain: The first slight surprise to feature on this list, Primavera Sound is adored across the world for its sheer style. The very biggest bands and artists are joined by next year's big thing, making Spain's biggest festival irresistible – even to Tomorrowland fans.

26 June – 1 July 2017, Novalja, Croatia: Even in the midst of wave after wave of festival competition on Croatia's beautiful Island of Pag, Hideout stands tall as the perfect combination of electronic stars and gorgeous summer weather. Joris Voorn and The Martinez Brothers joined Jamie xx, Andy C and Jamie Jones on the 2016 lineup.
10-17 August 2016, Budapest, Hungary: Dance and rock music rarely come together so well, but Sziget's global status didn't just appear out of nowhere. David Guetta, Afrojack and Hardwell play side-by-side with Muse, Bloc Party and Bastille, right in the heart of Hungary's capital city, Budapest.
2017 Date TBA, Mannheim, Germany: Tons of experience and a massive, faithful following make Time Warp a giant of European techno parties. Now established on three continents, Mannheim's original warehouse rave is currently taking the world by storm.
5-7 August 2016, Kastellaun, Germany: A veteran of the scene, Nature One combines electronic megastars from a range of styles with eye-catching visuals and production; all against the spectacular industrial backdrop of a disused NATO missile. Adam Beyer, Sven Vath, Paul van Dyk and Robin Schulz are among those leading the charge this time round.
2017 Dates TBA, Malta: The very first edition of AMP: Lost & Found marked one of the 2015 season's electronic high points, and the second edition in March built on that growing momentum, even though it had been and gone before summer had even properly started.
21-25 August 2016, Novalja, Croatia: The good people behind Time Warp take us south, and to Croatia's stunning Adriatic coast. Sun, sea and a whole lot of techno lie in wait at another of Novalja's stand-out festivals.
6-9 July 2017, Novi Sad, Serbia: EDM, house, techno, pop, and the occasional splash of rock music – EXIT Festival's secret to international success is in having something for absolutely everyone. EXIT's sister festival Sea Dance follows on just a few days later, down on the coast of Montenegro.
24-25 June 2017, Spaarnwoude, Netherlands: Honed in Amsterdam's iconic Gashouder and transported north-west of the city for two days every summer, the Awakenings spirit combines monumental locations with an underground, raw feeling.
