Best Value Music Holidays In Europe

With the euro hitting a 12 year low, what might sound like bad news for the economy might actually benefit the travel market, and as many flock to the continent to enjoy more holidays than usual, there's no time like the present to take advantage of the lower prices.

So, let us help you plan your ideal European music holiday getaway. Firstly, choose what kind of holiday you want...

Head To The Beach (Packages start from €29pp)

If you fancy a musical getaway that will promise sun, sea and sand, then our first obvious recommendation is the diverse beauty of Festivals in Croatia. Featuring both white pebble and sandy beaches, take in the stunning landscapes complimented by unusual mountain backdrops surrounded by crisp blue waters.

Music fans are spoilt for choice in Novalja, where boat parties, beach gatherings and club nights in world famous venues take over Zrce Beach. A lot of the music events there are electronic, such as EDM mania of Ultra Europe, or the techno heavy Sonus, however there are also events like the indie, rock, pop and electronic mix of Croatia Rocks, as well as Europe's biggest hip-hop beach holiday Fresh Island.

There is also Pulawhere festivals take place on more than just beaches, from a well-preserved Roman Amphitheatre to an old fort, where urban and bass sounds can be found at Outlook, and underground electro, deep house, techno and more line the shores of Dimensions.

Jumping from Greece to Croatia, Barrakud events also offer week long getaways, taking over the beaches, nightclubs and boat parties of the holiday heaven they descend upon with techno and EDM sounds.

Croatia and Greece aren't the only sun-kissed escapes promising a combined music and travel experience, as there are all genres of music to enjoy with the Iberian sisters of Spain and Portugal.

Rock and indie fans should head to Barcelona, where the independent and critically acclaimed Primavera Sound takes place near the shore, or the singer-songwriter vibes of Vida Festival which delight the seaside town it's invited into, or Bilbao BBK, which is in a very unique location atop a mountain between a beach and Bilbao city.

This doesn't mean there isn't any fun for electronic fans in Iberia, as MEO Sudoeste boats a strong selection of Calvin Harris and Hardwell, and Sonar Barcelona provides an electronic dance mecca of showcases, gig nights, workshops and more.

So there we have a brief run through of the beach music holidays on offer, have a browse yourself below.

We've explained why we love partying with the dutch before, from their street party takeovers to their colourfully staged events, there is a great wealth of music events to enjoy in the very unique cities of the Netherlands.

Many of the events on sale either take place over one day, over-night or just two days giving you the chance to plan a naughty weekend of hedonism.

If there are any techno-fans desperate for an easter city-break, Awakenings are putting on not one but FOUR easter specials at the unmatchable Gashoulder location. Headliners include Sven Väth, Adam Beyer, Ben Klock & Marcel Dettman.

Not far away from Amsterdam there is a wealth of one day electronic events with vibrant stages and wild and fun vibes in Utrecht, such as the intimate Geheime Liefde and the adults playground of Lief Festival.

Every year there is also the royal birthday celebration of the King's birthday, where the Dutch cities turn into an orange wearing mass, with Kingsday and Kingshouse providing electronic day and nights parties as the cherry on the raving sundae.

Another event merging the delight of exploring a city and absorbing all of its treasures is Denmark's Distortion, which is a wild week of street parties with massive sound systems, club takeovers, parties at the Copenhagen harbour and many more surprises along the way. Denmark's 2nd largest city of Aarhus also boasts Northside festival, taking place on a river valley within walking distance of the city centre, lineup highlights include alt-J, The Black Keys, Sam Smith & Wu-Tang Clan.
