Though traditionally electronic music has been associated with late-teens and twenty-somethings raving for an ungodly amount of time in industrial warehouses or sleek, dimly-lit clubs, it is of course a form of music enjoyed by all ages and demographics. That's a principle at the heart of Montpellier's Family Piknik festival's ethos, welcoming all generations to celebrate the communal experience of dance music, and has been key to their success since their launch in 2012.
On 3-4 August Family Piknik returns, with legends Carl Cox and Sven Väth topping a bill that includes the likes of &Me, Sasha & John Digweed, Joris Voorn, Damian Lazarus and more. Its founder, Christophe Giminez, is also an acclaimed DJ, performing under the name Tom Pooks. To help deal with our excitement for the looming eighth edition (we'll be covering the weekend, so make sure to follow us here), we've got our hands on a recent live mix from Tom Pooks, including tracks and remixes from &Me, Marc Romboy and Damian Lazarus. Check out the mix below.
Family Piknik takes place from 3 - 4 August at Prairie de Grammont, Montpellier, France. A range of tickets are available for a limited time only here.
