In the past couple of years, Field Day has had a somewhat nomadic existence; after All Points East swept East London's Victoria Park from beneath their feet, they've been searching for a steady home since. With the inaugural opening of Meridian Water's The Drumsheds this weekend, it looks as though they've found it.
As is typical with Field Day, the festival offers a sampling of artists from varied genres that both compliment London's diverse demographic, and (evidently) quite excellent taste in a wide spectrum of music, both homegrown and from further afield.
From Bonobo and Jungle's sun-bleached catalogue to the hazy, guitar-driven indie of Deerhunter and Boy Azooga, from the heart-on-the-sleeve soul of Jorja Smith and Tirzah to slightly more challenging, glitchy electronica in the form of Modeselektor and Death Grips, there's plenty to delve into at Field Day's new home.
