Reading & Leeds 2017: Artists We're Praying Don't Clash

Reading & Leeds 2017: Artists We're Praying Don't Clash

It's now just a week until Reading and Leeds Festivals finally kick off! We're sure you're pretty overwhelmed with stocking up on all the essentials – beer, wine and vodka – but once that's out the way, it's time to look forward to the music.

But as is now unfortunately standard with any major music festival, there are the inevitable stage clashes. And although the official times wont be available until the festival kicks off, here are some potential clashes we're praying wont happen.

Kasabian vs. You Me At Six vs. Billy Talent

Friday night at Reading (Saturday at Leeds) serves up a headline menu of different shades of rock. On the Main Stage there's the indie, psychedelic-infused, britpop-inspired Kasabian, while both the NME / Radio 1 Stage and The Pit will be bouncing to pop-punkers You Met At Six and Billy Talent.

When & where: Friday at Reading, Saturday at Leeds: Kasabian (Main Stage), You Me At Six (NME / Radio 1 Stage), Billy Talent (The Pit)

Wiley vs. Giggs

Two major faces in the UK's vibrant underground head off. Is it time to choose between the self-proclaimed Godfather of grime, or the infectious flow of the rap Landlord?

When & where: Sunday at Reading, Friday at Leeds: Wiley (NME / Radio 1 Stage), Giggs (Main Stage)

Two Door Cinema Club vs. Jagwar Ma

It's a battle of twiddling guitar riffs and indie-bopping against the infectious grooving and experimental dance of Aussies Jagwar Ma.

Whichever way you go, you're sure to be moving.

When & where: Friday at Reading, Saturday at Leeds: Two Door Cinema Club (Main Stage), Jagwar Ma (Festival Republic Stage)

Halsey vs. Charli XCX

These two may be heading out on tour together this year, but they go head to head at R&L. Two of pop music's most rebellious darlings, the pair's roughed-up charm betrays an alluring insecurity.

When & where: Sunday at Reading, Friday at Leeds: Halsey (NME / Radio 1 Stage), Charli XCX (Radio 1 Dance Stage)

Tom Misch vs. The Japanese House

Whether you end up at The NME / Radio 1 Stage or the Festival Republic, you'll no doubt be captivated. Feel-good neo-soul or ethereal, hazy soundscapes, these are two young artists with big things on the horizon.

When & where: Saturday at Reading, Sunday at Leeds: Tom Misch (NME / Radio 1 Stage), The Japanese House (Festival Republic Stage)

Lethal Bizzle vs. P Money vs. Shy FX

Do you go with either of grime's biggest stars, or the legendary drum and bass DJ and producer? Whichever way, it's guaranteed energy.

When & where: Friday at Reading, Saturday at Leeds: Lethal Bizzle (NME / Radio 1 Stage), P Money (Radio 1Xtra Stage), Shy FX (Radio 1 Dance Stage)

Rat Boy vs. Declan McKenna

You couldn't get more classic indie than these two, complete with the Jamie T-esque drawl and the cheeky charm.

When & where: Friday at Reading, Saturday at Leeds: Rat Boy (Main Stage), Declan McKenna (NME / Radio 1 Stage)
