With less than 50 days to go till Amsterdam Dance Event 2019 officially begins it's high time we started digging into what's on offer at this year's festivities.
There are more artists, shows, workshops, and talks than you could possibly get to, so doing a little research into what you want to see and do is a must.
To start things off, here are five of the most unique shows you're going to find at ADE this year.
Our Story – 15 Years Tomorrowland
Lineup: Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Goose, Netsky, Steve Aoki, The Bloody Beetroots, Tiësto
Anything Tomorrowland does is instantly newsworthy, but coming to ADE is probably the most intriguing the festival has done to celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2019. Taking over the Ziggo Dome, the kings of EDM have curated a typically bombastic lineup for its two days in the Dutch capital.
When & Where: 17-18 October, Ziggo Dome
Klockworks presents Photon
Lineup: Rødhåd, Ben Klock, Balwan B2B Freddy K, Adiel, FJAAK
There are electronic music shows and then there are immersive sonic experiences. That may sound pretentious but come back to me once you've seen Photon live in person. Melding sight and sound into a unified statement, the brainchild of Ben Klock's Klockworks label is something not to miss at ADE 2019.
When & Where: 19 October, De Kromhouthal
Innervisions Amsterdam x Loveland
Lineup: RY X [live], Nina Kurtela, Âme, Dixon, Marcus Worgull, Trikk
Another one making its way into experiential territory, this collaboration between Innervisions and Loveland has two distinct parts: an immersive audio-visual show at Theatre Amsterdam, then an all-out rave at Warehouse Houthavens.
When & Where: 17 October, Theatre Amsterdam and Warehouse Houthavens
DGTL x Rüfüs du Sol
Lineup: Willaris. K, Rüfüs du Sol
ADE is anchored in great DJ performances, but with so many going down over the festival's five days, Rüfüs du Sol's mixture of a live band performance and electronic sound will be a refreshing change of pace. Of course it doesn't hurt that the Australian trio's reputation for getting dance floors shaking precedes them.
When & Where: 17 October, NDSM Warehouse
Into The Woods ADE Weekender
Lineup: Detroit Swindle, Maya Jane Coles, Axel Boman, HVOB, John Talabot, Tom Trago, Orpheu The Wizard, Project Pablo
ADE is the realm of the literal and metaphorical underground. Disused warehouses, dark clubs, and descents down grimy stairs are par for the course. Into The Woods switches things up a bit, taking the party outdoors for two days at the NDSM Dockyard. With an all-star of electronic acts outside the mainstream, this daytime weekender is a great way to start your day.
When & Where: 18-19 October, NDSM Dockyard
Amsterdam Dance Event takes place 16-20 October throughout the Dutch capital. Find more info on our ADE 2019 guide and book your tickets, packages, accommodation, transport and more here.
