The organisers of hugely popular festival Afro Nation have announced that the festival will be heading to Portugal for the second year running, with "the world's number one beach festival" returning to the Algarve from 17-19 July 2020.
As with the landmark debut edition in the summer of 2019, the Afro Nation Portugal 2020 will be held on the sands of Praia da Rocha in Portimão, bringing together a lineup of the most exciting names in Afrobeats, hip hop, R&B, dancehall, and bashment across the weekend.
The first outing for the new festival caused ripples in the festival world over summer, welcoming the likes of DaVido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Busy Signal, D'banj, Femi Kuti, Buju Banton and more to the south of Portugal and setting into a motion a series of events that will see the festival spread worldwide with Afro Nation Ghana taking place in Accra this December, and Afro Nation Puerto Rico marking the festival's American debut next March.
The latest announcement has also come with news about tickets for the 2020 edition, with pre-sale tickets confirmed to go on sale at 9am on Thursday (28 November) before the general sale starts at 9am GMT on Friday 29 November. Join our waiting list here.
