Azkena Rock have added more names to the lineup for this summer, including Van Morrison, Mott The Hoople and Dead Cross. As well as being strong additions, the announcement also reflects the festival's ethos of showcasing the broad spectrum of rock's classic sounds: with soul/R&B, glam rock and hardcore punk all represented
Although the term gets thrown around a little too frequently, Van The Man is genuinely a music icon, and one of the most revered living musicians in the world (for all his faults), so it's without doubt a great booking for the Spanish rock festival.
The announcement also confirms a rare live appearance for British glam-rock veterans Mott The Hoople, their first since a handful of shows in 2013 and 2009.
Hardcore punk supergroup Dead Cross round things off – the fourpiece made up members of Slayer, Faith No More, Retox and Head Wound City. The join previously announced acts Joan Jett, MC5, Gluecifer and Turbonegro, among others.
