The Cure have been announced as the first headliners for EXIT Festival 2019, the award-winning Serbian festival in Novi Sad next July.
The Cure's set on the festival's opening night will be their first in Serbia, performing in the surroundings of the magical 18th century Petrovaradin Fortress.
They are famed for their elongated live shows that mix everlasting hits like 'Boys Don't Cry', 'Lovesong' and 'Friday I'm in Love' with more atmospheric classics such as 'A Forest', 'From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea' and 'Disintegration'.
It is therefore little wonder The Guardian has described them asthe band who maintained their integrity and which tore through the 80s the way the Beatles rushed through the 60s, or Bowie the 70s: wildly prolific, constantly changing".
EXIT Festival emerged from a huge student protest back in 2000, evolving to be crowned Europe's Best Major Music Festival twice in the last five years.
Each year, the festival showcases a diverse music program that covers rock to punk, hip-hop, and the best electronic music across over 40 stages inside the fort's moats, trenches and even tunnels.
